Happy Saturday! What a wonderful FALL day in Texas. I just wanted to recap the AWESOME things happening in the Anderson Library!
Our short week started on Tuesday after a fun Labor Day Monday off. We hit the ground running with make up classes and our full Tuesday schedule of classes! 4th grade experienced an awesome personal narrative mentor text this week, reading Nubs: the true story of a mutt, a Marine, and a miracle. There is already a reserve list of students wanting to enjoy it again! Come by the library to add your name to the list.
6th grade worked with multiple meaning words and both 5th and 6th grades found out more details about our new Library Leader program and got their schedules for assisting in the library and Maker Space. With our lunch meetings next week, we will start the program with a BANG!
Speaking of Maker Space, we added our EggBot, K'Nex, and finalized the puzzle station. Several students stopped by this week to create with legos, LittleBits, and more. Look for the button maker and Sphero to be out next week, as our Maker Space continues before and after school (with permission) and throughout the day with a pass from a teacher.
Kindergarten students read Alphabet Mystery and practiced writing their letters using the interactive white board and 3rd graders explored our newest book additions, ABDO nonfiction and biographies, with companion ebooks for reading on the iPads or phones! More details to come soon.
Finally, our catalog computers are fully up and running ready to help you find EXACTLY what you are looking for! We're still working on the Chromebooks, but they should be accessible soon. Look for a second check-in/check-out station opening early next week.
